Do you watch Songs of Praise or know anybody who does?

Yeah me and my flatemates used to watch it quite alot, hungover on a Sunday trying to sing along to the hymns, they need one of those bouncy graphics which bounces on each word. Or they could do some tunes that I know, where is Lord of The Dance? Tsk.

Is it really just C of E churches that they feature? They would do better with Methodist churches, they have the best hymns thanks to the Wesleys. "Why should the devil have all the best tunes"?

Alright I don't watch it but that means nothing, I hardly watch the box at all these days except for UKtv History and Channel 4 news.

I prefer the Electric Wireless Receiving Apparatus don'tcha know.

Tuned in briefly at the end of SOP last night. Just in time to hear Catherine Jenkins (I think) & a Welsh male voice choir giving it their all to "Bread of Heaven", a couple of verses in English & a couple in Welsh..

"Feed me now oh great redeemer
Pilgrim through this barren land.."

Beautiful..:)

Bollocks. I earn part of my living singing C of E hymns and there are shitloads of good ones. And methodists are a teetotal bunch of handwringing types anyway.

:p

(oh yeh and I don't watch SoP cos when it's on I'm invariably at cathedral doing the real thing, better)

Just the thought of this is making the back of my neck tingle.
It's one of my favourite hymns, and there's nothing like hearing it sung by a full choir.

That's what my RE teacher thought until I brought in a bottle of home made apple wine. :D
