DIY watch repair

krink

I'll do it this afternoon
Just a quickie as I'm crap at Google and I know some megabrain here will know the answer. I've taken watch straps off before with my homemade repair tools but this one is closed on the outside where the bars fit and I'm getting frustrated 😂 I'll end up bending them if I'm not careful. Any tips? Crap photo to illustrate that the bit where the bars go is closed on the outside. Normally use my tool to poke into the hole from the outside (behave).

I've been trying that but I think I must be stopping just short of the required movement due to fear of forcing it and breaking it. I'll try again. Ta

Excuse to drop in one of my favoured 'youtube channels to fall asleep to':

I've got a quartz Tommy Hilfiger watch that needs the battery replacing, does anyone have a way to take the back off without the special tool? (it isn't precious or anything I don't mind risking a slight scuff on the back)

about 10 or 15 quid
thanks, tbh I was hoping for something that would use tools I already have tho (ie basic like screwdriver etc)... I reckon it will cost 15£ to take it into a shop for them to do and if it's going to cost about the same for a tool I'll prob just get the shop to do it.

If you have the right tool it will only be the cost of a battery next time not another £15. :)

I do like timpson's and I've got a local one, maybe I should just take it there and support them... here's a photo in case you have any last ideas though, I am trying to save money as much as possible!:

Sometimes possible to open those with long nosed pliers, hard not to scratch it though and Id advise not to ... timpsons is still the best bet
