Yes and no. What I'm trying to say is that Israel has no more right to exist than Palestine. Israel was violently carved out of an already existing territory against the wishes of many of the people living there. Iraq, on the other hand, was formed - not for the people who lived in the 3 vilayets - but for the sole purpose of providing the British Empire with oil. It is truly an imaginary place. The Middle East was partitioned by imperialists and we live with the consequences of their actions today.
