Describe your 'political tradition' in one sentence

Good thread.

If I'm honest, I'm describing a political trajectory rather than a tradition.

Young Socialists, LP (lapsed 1989), Union(s) as a 'shoppy', socialism and latterly anarchism. Presently left-libertarian/Anarcho-communist with a tendancy to harbour utopian dreams and try to read too many political books at once!:D

Did you? Jewish cultural nationalism (if that's what you're describing) is not the mark of anything wrong.

yeah, it is what I'm describing, as i'm not a zionist, and thanks for reassuring me, i always felt quite guilty about it in the past. i might not have told you but i've definitely said i am a few times on this forum :)

Anarchist-communist, libertarian-socialist, anarcho-syndicalist, council/left communist, autonomist Marxist (armchair branch)

I think that covers it.
In a phrase, I'm an anarchist communist. (I'd have thought that this tradition would be fairly well understood, but there seems to be at least one anarchist on this thread who doesn't understand it). So that's my formal position.

However, there's much in all these named traditions and others that I like and admire. I'm comfortable to see the areas of overlap as reason enough to rub along. I don't restrict that common cause to social anarchists, but to left socialists, and anyone who likes ideas akin to libertarian municipalism.

In the event of communism coming - as come it will, for a' that - the imperative will be to find the common ground, not to argue over the niceties.

leftist who generally hates left wing people and sometimes worries hes turning into a nazi in his old age . Getting much more intolerant as time goes on . Franz fanon and Padraig Pearse would probably be my 2 favourite political theorists . Likes Fidel and Hugo chavez too.

Would probably opt for full on marxist leninsim if push came to shove, if only to put whinging lefties in camps.

Are we all turning into self-loathing leftists?:hmm:

:D

no , i think im great, usually . Its everyone else thats the problem , because theyre often wrong about almost everything of consequence , and see things of no consequence as highly important .
