Danish John Lewis?

mattie

missing in inaction
A quick question, which I could get some semblance of an answer from google but hoping for slightly more informed advice. Even though all I've got is urban.

A mate is getting married in the UK this summer, he lives in Denmark so I'd like to get him some vouchers for a Danish equivalent of John Lewis - any Danish urbs/urbanites/urbadensians know of a good place to look? Just to clarify for said continentals who may be thinking 'John Who?', John Lewis is a large department store which is owned by staff, so returns policy, staff conditions etc are all pretty damn good. They also have an excellent range of stuff for the home.

They'll have to accept payment and deliver to UK, but I can check that out. A name of a good shop with plenty of branches would be mucho apprecaitedo.

Ta.

Yes, Magasin Du Nord (you don't mention where your friend lives in Denmark - they have 5 stores across the country). Or Illums Bolighus (only in Copenhagen). But if you get vouchers for either, they deliver nationwide.

Actually offer him the vouchers and when he accepts them, take 60 % away. he will appreciate this and will tell himself he is lucky to live in the happiest country in the world.
