Chinese flag disaster

Apparently Rio used the wrong Chinese flag twice.

Please someone reassure me. I've stared and stared at the BBC images of the right flag and wrong flag and I honestly can't see what difference they are talking about.

Is this a blue dress gold dress thing or there really a noticible difference?

The rotation of the smaller stars is wrong, on the wrong one.

Yes the small stars represent the people and on the wrong flag they don't each have an arm pointed to the centre of the big star.

Ah I finally see it. The top two are like upsidedown. (Two points up)

In the wrong flag all four are single point up.

I can sympathise a little. Whenever companies make Welsh friendship badges they invariably have the dragon facing the wrong direction. I've seen this way too many times.

Imagine if the BBC illustrated all its Scottish independence referendum content with a Scottish flag that was not blue but was UKIP-purple.

Facing towards the flagpole. Usually represented as towards the left yes.

its a two sided flag though which complicates things. If the wind changes then pointing to the right is also correct.
