So how corrupt are the judges in some of these events?
There was a lesser case of the Japanese appeal in the men's gymnastics that lost GB a silver and, completely screwed Ukraine out of a medal.
But, I've noticed 2 very dubious cases so far both strangely resulting in German medals being awarded.
First in the womens fencing, where a Korean girl lost due to the Austrian time judge repeatedly resetting the clock enabling the German to get the points she needed.
Then again today in the women's cycling event the Chinese were relegated to losers in the final.
It amazed me that with the incident in the velodrome, the judge accountable for the decision couldn't even produce a photo-finish type picture like in horse racing, even tough he was surrounded with screens. The Chinese team watched on as he justified his decision on the screen but they seemed none to impressed and neither did the BBC commentators who where equally as astonished.
Then there's the downright blatant: in the boxing an Azerbaijani was decked 6 times and was still awarded a 22-17 win. The ref (from Turkministan) has been expelled and sent home for that one.
So, before I get shot down as a conspiracy theorist... it does happen.
Are there any memorable cases in past Olympics of fucked up judges' decisions?
