Can you tell which half of this face is real, and which is CGI?

One half of the face above is a photograph, and the other half is a highly detailed computer generated rendering created using a program called KeyShot by Luxion.

I haven't looked to find out which is the real half, but I think it's the one on the right but it's very close.

It is getting amazingly good. If I glance up and there's football on the TV, I often have to watch for a few seconds to work out if it's live action or Playstation.

No. I spoilered my reasoning so that others could answer uninfluenced, but I don't know it's true.

Well, I do. But not because I looked it up. It's obvious IMO.

All possible with CGI these days, and just the kind of detail they put in to fool you.

It looks much less real than the open pores and stray eyebrow hair(s) on the other side to me.

Plus there's a spot on forehead on the other side. One which isn't repeated at all, let alone excessively often, across the rest of his face.

I think his left/our right is the fake one because the bit around the inner eye socket looks dodgy, like the artist can't do eye lids or something.

Our right (his left, obv.) is fake. It's like they've overcompensated with detail in some places to make it look more real.

You might want to adjust your monitor/eyes if you can't see nostril hair on the right hand side!

You're right that that's another give-away, though, as the hair on the left looks far more realistic.

I count 4 though! Perhaps my eyes are better than yours, or maybe I have dust on the monitor
