Me, my mum and 2 kids under 5 want to go camping somewhere in July - any suggestions?
Looking for something in south/south west England (not Cornwall though) or south Wales.
Family friendly
Decent shower/toilet facilities
Ideally a pub close by
A decent field with toilets and showers and a washing up bit. Pubs are a bit of a walk away but we're OK and there's a few shops in the village. Pretty cheap as well compared to some of the silly prices some places charge.
There are some decent places up here in Norfolk as well, but that probably doesn't hit the area you're looking for.
Mendip Heights campsite beside Priddy is good. I'm there now. Good facilities, laundry, beside a horse livery, pub close by I think, Cheddar Gorge 5 miles down the road, 5 or so miles from Wells. Actually... there's shitloads of sites round here.
i can recommend the gower and forest of dean as general areas in terms of stuff to do with littlies, though the sites we've been to weren't closer than trekking distance to a pub. do you know ukcampsite? you can search by county and it has pretty comprehensive reviews - to add to personal recommendations
I've stayed in Broadway House near Cheddar loads of times with the family. Good facilties, pool etc and dead safe for kids to go wandering off. Bar was always pretty cheap and open late.
