Can Yaxley Lennon run for EU elections?

rules should get rid of her- being an MP and comminting a fairly major crime is far worse then a regular citizen doing some kind of minor fraud

prob , that's right

however, he seems quite popular these days, who knows, he may go far - I'm all for newcomers onto the scene!

funny how Fiona OnaCrimSanya can still be an Mp though ..:hmm:

It’s not funny, it’s following the rules of a conviction of less than 12 months not meaning exclusion from parliament. The Labour Party did call for her to step down.

You’re not that big on facts are you?

If you want to have a go at her, how about bringing up her vote against LGBT education? Or doesn’t that vote fit with your ideology?

It's not a crime to vote against LGBT education, but perjury is

so, time for her to go!

hell, I've only just got here - and all I've done is criticise the criminal Labour MP

that should be what any decent person would do

She is not a Labour MP. You’ve had this pointed out but persist in this lie.

I don’t give a shit for Labour, but I’m suspicious of you and your ignorance of basic facts.

Off you fuck etc.

He apparently can run, & checking the small-print for legal loopholes will be as ineffective & counter productive in the long run as the Mueller Report or 'the referendum was only advisory' appeals.

A campaign launch with a cheery public barbecue in Wythenshawe, free burgers (later stopped because of election rules about treats), a successful fundraiser for a mobility scooter, & plenty of good will generated in a place that's generally ignored or denigrated. He announced that the roadshow will continue to other council estates in the North West, including Stockport, Oldham, Preston. It's exactly what an extra-parliamentary left should be doing (without the electoral aspect), & it's driving me up the wall. He has the funds & the motivation, & I wouldn't be that surprised if a mobilised base & low turnouts sneaked him a seat - Nick Griffin was elected with 8% of the vote. His biggest challenge will be the split of the right wing vote - angry nationalists have rarely had so many attractive electoral options.

Perhaps this is the unintended consequence of his ban from social media platforms - it's demanded that he go out into actual communities & engage face to face, potentially making him more effective. The current anti-fascists responded by posting photos on twitter, which made them seem impotent rather than menacing. Now he's heading for Salford on Sunday with his carnival of reaction. It's not good.

That's spot on pal, exactly what a left that is serious about the w/class should have the confidence to do.
