Can anyone shed any light on this? Rachel Reeve's lies.

Lloyd's HSBC?

Has there been some amagamation that I'm unaware of...?

Sounds like a load of made up bollocks that has had typed up by some witless fucktard for the eager consumption of err... witless fucktards...
sounds made up if someone doesn't know the difference between HSBC and HBOS

also the whole 'was followed because lots of Dr. appointments ' sounds like Seppo 'private eye ' fantasising

Having looked into this a tiny bit, the original post is here:
And this is the bloke's linkedin profile if anyone feels like trying to establish how plausible they think it is:
The HSBC/HBOS confusion appears to have been introduced by whoever typed up the post Sass saw. Along with introducing an extra e to his name.

Ah, there's a Times story on it, does sound like there is indeed some dodginess with her CV:
Paywall-busted version is:
During the chancellor’s successful campaign to become MP for Leeds West in 2010, she told voters she had worked “as an economist … at Halifax Bank of Scotland [HBOS]”, using the experience to back up her claim that she had “economic expertise”.
Last week Reeves’s team admitted she had actually worked in retail banking at the Halifax bank, in its Halifax office, between 2006 and 2009 — and changed her job history on LinkedIn.
Phil Jenks, who served as director of mortgaging and worked closely with Reeves throughout her time at HBOS, said her role was primarily focused on customer retention.
“She definitely wasn’t an economist when she was with us,” he said, though added that her role would have required her to draw on some of the skills she had learned working as an economist at the Bank of England.
Former colleagues said that as part of her role she oversaw the bank’s response to customer complaints and was also responsible for the implementation of an IT system.
One former colleague, Wendy, 64, who asked for her surname not to be published, worked with Reeves throughout her time at HBOS in the customer relations department and claimed she had been haughty towards her juniors.
“She looked down at people,” said Wendy, who was a customer relations manager at HBOS between 2005 and 2010. “She just thought she was above everybody else.”
She said that Reeves left abruptly at the end of 2009 without a leaving event.

It was being reported a few days ago. Still the the guy looks and sounds like a knob so I'm saying he made it up just because of that.

This was the stand-out bit for me "She said that Reeves left abruptly at the end of 2009 without a leaving event."

Ime, when people leave without notice it's usually because they would have been fired if they hadn't left.

Nah, I think you're reading what isn't there.

What does abruptly mean?

Does it mean sent a 'with immediate effect' email and took her stuff home in a plastic bag at lunch time?

Or does it mean 'didn't discuss it endlessly in the canteen for months on end until her colleagues were sick of the subject', just worked her notice without fuss?

Not having a leaving do? Absolutely nothing.

I worked somewhere where they did a whip round when someone left.

One particularly disliked chap left and they collected absolutely no money for him.

Maybe there was no leaving do because no one liked her enough.

I believe Wendy.

You'd need to know what load 'abruptly' is carrying here though. Abruptly could mean anything from same day to a low-key worked out month's notice which her colleagues weren't necessarily aware of.

And this Wendy woman clearly doesn't like her so not the most reliable of witnesses.

There was one at Mrs Spy's work for particularly unpopular colleague and the envelope had 3 pound coins (probably put in as a piss take) in it by the time it had gone round the team. She felt sorry for him and put 50 quid in
