Broken Flowers

Not seen this yet, but it looks rather good...

The prospect though of Jim Jarmusch directing and Bill Murray starring seems an extremely good one. Could be one of the films of the year...

8.6 rating so far on IMDB, although from admittedly rather low number of voters)

As the devoutly single Don Johnston (Murray) is dumped by his latest girlfriend (Delpy), he receives a anonymous pink letter informing him that he has a son who may be looking for him. The situation causes Don to examine his relationships with women instead of moving on to the next one, and he embarks on a cross-country search for his old flames who might possess clues to the mystery at hand.

I absolutely love Down By Law and on the strength of that will always go see a Jim Jarmusch film.

Though to be honest I sort of want to like his films more than I actually do. Dead Man was quite something, must see it again. Ghost Dog, Mystery Train and Night On Earth were all just rather OK with nice moments. Coffee & Cigarettes was terrible.

Ah Jarmusch. Went grey at 15 iirc. Every movie an independant?

Dead Man was utter class, great performances - and of course the Ry Cooder soundtrack.

Is he the last Punk?

I loved Ghost Dog... Totally original and imaginative. Agree coffee and cigarettes was crap though, dunno what the point of that was.
