Birmingham New Street named as Britain’s worst railway station

Well. The bit up top is almost there. Down at platform level there is still a hell of a lot to do from what I can tell.
I agree - seems to be only partly complete at platform level at the moment.

Eta - read on the BBC that work at platform level will continue for another year.

List of shops here: Grand Central

Bearing in mind I don't go shopping in the city centre pretty much ever, I don't think there's much overlap except in the food places, although I haven't set foot in the Mailbox for many years and that did/does house a lot of designer clothing brands and seems like this is mostly designer clothing (or food). Not that that means I like, want or have any interest in the shopping centre, actually even less now I've seen what shops are there.

I'm travelling through tomorrow, will see what's it's like!
It's ok, but actually not terribly exciting. Yes, there's a lot more room, and anything is better than the ever changing rabbit warren of the last couple of years while the building work was going on. But it feels underwhelming to be honest. Bland even.

But much better than the 60s shit hole, granted.

Kinda what I'm expecting tbh. It's the platforms that really needed work and they are somewhat limited in what they can do down there.

My first thought was that the colour scheme is remarkably similar to the 60s version - it still feels beige. It's like the could have made it looks snazzy with glass and steel, but instead it just feels like acres of beige. But to be fair even stuck in beige world, it's a big improvement.
