Bids for funding

I want to write a bid for funding for an education project I want to run at my school for SEN students. I have run into two problems.

Firstly, I have never written a bid so don't know how to do this. Secondly, I don't know how to find the right organisations to apply to without trawling tons of lists and even having to pay for some of these.

Can anyone help me with a model of successful bid writing? Can anyone suggest some organisations I can apply to that will fund projects in schools (some won't as education is already funded)?

I don't know if this is in the right area but you can search on Turn2Us for organisations that provide grants to those in need:

Search for charitable and educational grants - Turn2us

I would have thought you would need to demonstrate what the need is, how your project will meet that need and what your expected outcomes would be e.g improved behaviour / attendance/ attainment / whatever.

Thanks, I do know what they'll want and there is some variation but would still like a model. I always write things for the first time with a model, makes life much easier.
And I do have some websites to check out but just don't have the time to trawl through the hundreds of criteria. Will look at that one and see if there's a way to refine the search.
