Bicycle Racing Thread 2013

What time is the Wiggins / Martin showdown in Florence today and any coverage for those of us without Eurosport TV ?

those being Italy times.... Martin currently a few seconds up... not sure if I really can justify (I'm self employed) spending the next 40 mins watching this....

Glad you noticed my deliberate mistake. Was just about to PM you pointing out I'm a fanny!

Disappointing ride from Phinney. He was only about 4 secs behind Martin last year, though I suppose the parcours was very much more favourable this time out for a rider like Tony.

Cav with Pattachi and Renshaw leading out next year, they'll be tough to beat in a sprint.

Thats the last 1500m taken care of but QS's problem for most of this season has been the 5km>2km out bit. Thats where Argos and Lotto did so well to lever them into the gutter during the tour. Superconfex* they aint.

*one for the older posters among us.

Is going ahead after:

Richard Conway@richard_conway
Vote to amend UCI constitution (art 51.1) which would allow Pat McQuaid to stand as a candidate in the presidential election about to start.

(and the amendment is to allow the pres to stand with no nominations - i.e with diff rules to all other candidates)

Am I the only one who worries that, should Cookson win, nothing will change? In the sense that everyone who's been pushing for change at the top will just think "job done".

While that may be possible, it's not as certain as nothing changing if McQuaid stays. In this case it has to be a case of better the devil we don't know.
