Third place play off was good. I agree though, not many great games of end to end stuff. Some good performances from teams. Argentina most of the tournament. Germany against England and then Argentina were good performances. Out of 64 games though it's pretty shabby to be struggling to think of even a few good contests.
That was the only stand-out, fantastic game for me too. It will certainly be remembered and spoken about for many years to come.

Holland versus Brazil (2-1) was good although the goals were of poor quality.
Uruguay were involved in two quality 2-3 defeats to Holland and Germany as well as the extraordinary Ghana match.
England Germany was nearly a good match. If only the second goal that England scored had stood. As it was it was too one-sided. Germany versus Argentina was also too one-sided, but both matches were amazing results from the German point of view.
I can't think of a single group stage match that was good.

They were all good games. The Slovakia - Italy Game would have been the best if the whole game had been as exciting as the last 10 minutes.

Home is south London mate
for me, it was Engand beating Slovenia 1-0 - being in the stadium probably helped! Even though we should have scored more, it was a great party, a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium and we went home happy.
We listened to the Italy v Slovakia game on the radio cos we were travelling at the time and that sounded like a great game. Argies getting beat by Germany was great fun too - in a pub full of English people all supporting the Germans!
