Beautiful Days 2017, Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th August. I've seen worse lineups!

The lineup for this year's BD announced on Friday 3rd March :)

Here we all are then. Who's upferrit?

Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club. In the mudbath of Glasto 2016, it worked for drunks! :)

And obviously Beautiful Days's long overdue hot and sunny year will actually materialise.

Our good festie mate has never been, and he's already booked ahead of us! ...... :D

I'm tempted which is a first for me as I usually don't festival more than one county away. I have friend connections to The Levellers so might see if any are crashing rather than camping. I suggested Therapy? do an acoustic set to my festy owner mate a couple of years back so I grinned like a loon seeing them on the bill :D

I've always enjoyed Beautiful Days but it's a shame it's always the week after Boomtown which is far more my kind of thing when it comes to festival mayhem.

Its a proper groundhog day line-up that. Pretty much everyone has played at the festival recently.

Very true :D, but I liked the lineup for this year anyway, and I rate it quite a bit better than last year'.

This time, there's such a combination of acts that I like

Also, I don't think Paul Heaton/Jackie Abbot have played BD -- when I saw them at Glasto last year I particularly liked them, I've always had a bit of a weakness for those old Beautiful South songs  :)

We can never make Boomtown (bad festie date clashes etc) and we've only been once (back in 2009). In fact I get really jealous of those mates of ours who do go :(

But we make our own little bit of wildness at Beautiful Days :D

Yeah they have. It was a afternoon / evening set on the main stage, 2-3 years ago, it was a bit of a guilty pleasure I will admit. Paul Heaton also played by himself the year before.

I think they've probably got the posters from the last 5 years, cut them up and drawn them out of a hat. Ta da, line-up 2017!

We've now bought our tickets. Earlier than I wanted to, but we were warned van tickets were selling very fast.

Still, we're definitely there now.

Arrggh! There are still some tickets left (I think) and I'm loving the line-up. Unfortunately the only person who's also desperate to go is my 8 year old daughter (she loves a festival). All my friends will probably be away and I'm swithering over whether to just buy the tickets for me n' her and face the consequences later...

Poot Do it! You won't regret! :D

Very child-friendly festival. And hopefully? you'll still be able to work out some childcare arrangement from friends/neighbours at the fest for a least a bit of the time?
Plus beforehand, you can always get a friend to change his/her mind with the right beer offer ..

:(

I arranged to go with a mate. Tried to book tickets yesterday. SOLD OUT!! Although actually, 2 mums and 4 kids? Probably not the most relaxing festie experience! :D

:(

Relaxing maybe not Poot but heaps of fun. I would keep an eye out for folk seeking tickets. BD is not a huge site/festival so a good one to do if it's first time going to a festie with kids.

It would be hell. So you'd have to self medicate with fizz

My sister is going to this! She has never been to a festival in her life before, apart from Ashton Court possibly.

I saw Doozer play at an animal sanctuary where I was running a benefit tea tent. Without hat or beard. I didn't recognise him at all, and asked my friend (quite loudly) wow this guy is covering Doozer? WTF??

Just had a text from a mate who's there. Tipping it down apparently. :(

Yeah, there'd been very bad rain on Wednesday, and it was even worse on Sunday

Nice inbetween though :)

My main benefit was enjoying the genius acts of Linton Kwesi Johnson, who almost never performs live, Rhoda Dakar, and Hayseed Dixie ... those three very easily confused acts :D
