Hasn't there been at least one occasion in which the cops went on strike and crime actually did go down? I think it was New York or something.

I think they did a slowdown/sickout/work to rule thing in response to BLM stuff relatively recently, I can't think of many proper formal police strikes other than very early 20th c Boston and Liverpool.
