ATTILA THE STOCKBROKER'S 30th ANNIVERSARY UK TOUR

From Organisers:

Attila the Stockbroker will be playing in Cardiff, Brecon and Swansea in October. A punk poet and musician, Attila is a legend in his own lifetime - left-wing, laugh-out-loud, never afraid to say it like it is. Labelled "magnificent" by Ian McMillan, this is a man who takes the labels off all things to reveal the troubled truth beneath - a fantastic performer who riles and rants ...yet is eloquent at the same time - expect the rude, the raw, the hard-hitting, and the hilarious!

Includes support from Cardigan poet and slam winner Sue Hamblen, Mab Jones as emcee, as well as a poetry prize draw - come and read with Attila yourself! Doors open 7.30pm for an 8pm start, entry is £5 on the door. Supported by Academi and Square Mag.

3 Welsh gigs organised by local poet Mab Jones

I'll be supported at all 3 by poet Sue Hamblen from Cardigan.
I have a very long gig history in Wales, dating right back to around 1983 when I met Anhrefn and Datblygu, pioneers of the Welsh language alternative music scene, and we started doing exchange events where I put them on in Harlow, London and Brighton and they invited me to Wales, sometimes to the bits where everyone but me spoke Welsh, which was marvellous. There I encountered bands like the Fflaps (yes, two Fs) and the ultimately more influential Y Cyrff, who metamorposed eventually into Super Furry Animals. I also learned one Welsh phrase: 'Fy nethau yn ffroidro gyda mwynhad' (My nipples explode with delight) I'm happy to be doing four gigs in Wales on this tour and I hope to see lots of old friends: if anyone can persuade David from Datblygu to come and see me I'll be well pleased to see him!

Attila is good i spose, tho must've been nigh on 15 odd years since i saw him (apart from when dropping off the flyers in the CAI the other week)

A friend of mine is organising the gigs and asked me to *spread the word* - in these days of con-dem rule maybe political and social punk poetry, song and alternative comedy may make a come back

if you grew a beard doubled in size and got angry(er) you could be a doppleganger udo!
