Asking for a payrise

Xanadu

Masterful but awkward
I'm working for a company who has sent me abroad to work at a client's site. There was two of us here, but now one guy has left. I figure now is the best time to sort out a pay increase. I haven't had a payrise for a couple of years now, and I should be on around 10% to 20% more (more considering my revenue for being on-site).

Myself and this other guy were the only people to work on this product, so if I leave now, my company will lose out on a lot of business. On the other hand, my manager knows that I'm not unhappy with how my job is going, so I don't have that much leverage, and I've already been offered a payrise (I find out the amount in August - though I've been told it's not "thousands and thousands of pounds").

Any thoughts on the best way to get a decent payrise out of this?

any payrise negotiatins need to be centred on what additional stuff you are doing or what additional value you are adding etc. mention you havnt ahd one in a couple of years and also look at what the market rate is for your role. no point in asking for 40k is the market rate is 25. know your worth and set it out logically and rationaly.

Need to check out Jobserve to find out my market rate. I think it's around 20% more than my current salary.
