Interesting article. I'd always assumed contracting MND was down to 'bad luck' (whatever that means.. erm) than enviromental/lifestyle factors. But this research puts forward the suggestion that experiencing an injury (what sort of injury? how severe?) or smoking might increase your risk. The 'tin foil hat' part of me does wonder if military personnel are more likely to be exposed to some sort of chemical that increases the risk... :hmm:
 
Yes, interesting article. Shame though given the data that they must have collected that they couldn't identify the risk profiles of the soldiers who did smoke compared to those that did not.
