Anyone know Clacton?

Spending the weekend in Clacton with the missus and kids at my dads caravan.Haven't been there for a good few years and cant really remember much about the place. Any local knowledge of places to see,eat and drink will be greatly appreciated.We're staying at Sacketts grove .

My parents used to have a holiday place in Jaywick which is a couple of miles outside clacton.It used to be a great seaside place but went downhill when butlins closed in the early 1980's

Yeah we were staying at Jaywick.site was nice.very well kept.went and found the house that we stayed in nearly fourty years ago.Jaywick itself reminded me of a post apocalyptic film set.Strangely,i couldnt get fresh shelfish anywhere in clacton.nice weekend though

Have many happy memories of going on family holidays there in the 1970's
I remember you could get a day pass to butlins and could go on all the rides
