So many particulars. So many questions.
I thought I'd be wildly adventurous and make 20 quids worth of small bets. Couldn't find bristol central on paddy power, so no bet on that. Went for a lab win in kettering, peanuts return but fine. Had a quid on a labour minority govmnt just for the lol, 67 quid return tho. Few others, st J of C to win Islington north obvs.
Poll for polls sake.

No. I’d quite like a tenner on the Tories being the second largest party as a hedge against disappointment, but that would mean signing up with an online bookie who would harass me with emails for ever more.

No I'm not betting in the financial sense, whatever it is in people's psyche that makes them attracted to gambling is completely missing from mine, I can't even put 10p in a slot machine without immediately feeling cheated if I don't win straightaway.
I have however drawn up a list of predictions and candidates to watch and will check how my predictions pan out against reality.

The pool table and the arcade machine always offered an actual return in the playing of a game of skill. The fruit machine and the penny arcade pushers etc, no. I'm no skilled gambler and my bets here have been driven by a mixture of knowledge and winging.

this is just a flutter to enliven an election where its a choice between the competent looters or the complete shit your rivers and loot the country wingnuts so I may as well make it interesting.

If there were really long odds on a hung parliament I would be tempted. I'd want about 1:50 before I bothered though. Polling disaster, plus Labour on the day disaster, plus maybe the SNP aren't doing so badly as it looks, plus Tory waverers getting spooked by something at the last minute plus the wind blowing in the right direction. 2% chance or so altogether... Don't think I'm going to get the odds I want though.

35/1 on the exchanges, which will be a better price than any bookmaker, so you won’t find 50/1

I was trying to find somewhere where you could bet on seats taken. At 1/5 on Labour isn't worth betting on. I would bet £10.00 on the SNP getting twenty seats nor less.

Few little bets.Couple ofquid on Greens and Reform gaining no seats at 66/1
fiver on Sunak, Truss and Hunt to lose seat can't remember odds
And something else I've just forgotten...

I've laid the Labour majority. Perhaps minor panic if the exit poll comes in tighter, and cash out if odds move 20-30 ticks out.

What does that mean?

Like if a football team are massive odds on favourite to win, and they go 0-2 down, but go on to win 5-2. Inevitable result, just not as straight forward as expected. So you can cash out in play.

Odds are crap on Labour , have had a few small bets on the Tories getting 100-150, 150-199 , and on Sunak losing his seat. Also a long odder, 66/1 on Grant Shapps being the new Tory leader .

What did you get on Tories 100-150? That's where I think they'll be.
