No, I haven't yet. It's quite near me though so I should take a wander up.

i'd be surprised if this met anything like the controversy. apart from the timing, there's not much contentious about it, is there? i suppose the tower is a bit 'establishment'.

ITS JUST A WAY OF GETTING PEOPLE TO PAY TO GO IN TO THE TOWER OF LONDON.
WAKE UP SHEEPLE.
etc
I really like this, but if they had built it up slowly over the 4 year period as the deaths occurred it would have been even more poignant - just imagine the trickle from the window building up to the torrent of blood as the war progressed.
Where is that Minnie?I also passed the Dazzle Ship on my way. Wanted to go back and have a closer look at it as we were on a boat and going to fast, but may do that another day

Found itah bugger, can't remember which bridge it's nearest to. It's after Embankment Pier but before Tower of London. Hang on a sec
It's well worth paying to go in the ToL anyway. I've spent practically all day in there. I'm a member, so can go in whenever I like!
I fancy going again, but will leave it until at least the schools are back. I might go and have a look at the poppies sooner though.
Pay the dosh to Historic Royal Palaces - the charity that runs it, then you can visit the TOL, Kensington Palace, Hampton Court and the Banqueting House any time you like. There is also Kew Palace, but that is free now, but HRP members get discount ticket for entry into Kew Gardens, where KP is located. There are also exclusive member events like lectures (I've been to a couple by Lucy Worsley herself), and HCP roof tours. It's great. I've been a member, on and off, for a few years. How does one become a member of the Tower of London?
I thought it was an exclusive club that usually terminates membership with beheading.

That’s HMS President, I’ve had a few great nights aboard her over the years.
There’s a drill hall below decks which is good for parties, and the bar on the deck is a lovely place to have a few drinks and watch the river, especially during events like the Thames Festival.
Mind you, in recent years it’s changed hands and I suspect that these days I couldn’t afford to drink there.
A couple of years ago I mentioned the President to my dad. Turns out he was posted there to learn Morse code when he joined the Navy in 1941, in the middle of a different war.
Oh, the generation gap………………………………..
I should also add that you also get access to the private members' room at Hampton Court Palace. Shame there isn't one at the Tower too, as it's more central, but I doubt there is the space.Pay the dosh to Historic Royal Palaces - the charity that runs it, then you can visit the TOL, Kensington Palace, Hampton Court and the Banqueting House any time you like.
