Any stacks playing music for Carnival?

I've got a different question... Anyone ever stayed in a hotel near Notting Hill for carnival? A cheap ok one?

I've stayed near kings cross for it. I'm sure you can get closer but that was cheap and an easy journey. Stumbling distance

Not sure where to put this so I've decided here because of the Notting Hill connection and because theres a few names above I suspect will enjoy this.
The article is quite long but a really good read, covers a lot of ground apart from Carnival.

(Apols if it's been on before, I did sort of check. I came accross it looking for some info on a certain Ken Allardyce(spelling?) who passed away recently. He was a local legend in 1980s Handsworth at Thashers Club (aka Rialto) playing his personal collection of blue beat and ska.)

Tim who did that interview is a good lad. Gladdy is a legend. Used to love Saturday mornings in his shop.

I've not really came across anything about him before but really enjoyed that article about him.
I suppose I've been more Brum based over the years, our Don Christie's would be your Gladdy's.
Great days either way.
