It's (almost) funny. Reading the reports over here, and they must be even worse in yankeeland, you'd think that the blood on the bra strap and the knife were the only bits of forensic evidence. It's certainly the impression given by the defence (for obvious reasons), and the papers lap it up.
So its a bit of a shame that its bollocks. Even if we accept that the bra strap might well have become contaminated and rule it out, there's still Sollecito's bloody footprint, and the knife. The defence's attempts to rule out the knife are laughable and contradictory, and Knox & Sollecito know it, which is why they are shit scared about it.
A few days ago I'd probably have said that I thought they were guilty on the balance of probabilities, but not beyond a reasonable doubt. But after reading some of the evidence the papers cant be arsed reporting, its clear that they are both guilty as fucking sin, and a right pair of cunts. 26 years, sounds about right.

The American media is torn between its patriotic, natural distrust of having one of their citizens tried by a foreign court, and their pathological hatred of "crime" and "criminals." They're all over the shop, basically.
The socalled "forensic evidence" is bollocks. If they'd killed Meredith with their bare hands, their blood would be splattered everywhere.
The prosecution alleges a violent struggle--an allegation with which the "evidence" is absurdly incommensurate.

When Solecitto was confronted with the DNA evidence from the knife in his kitchen and was asked how the victims' blood came to be on it he replied that she had come round for dinner and he had pricked her finger by accident. Solecitto had been dating knox for only 8 days and the victim's whereabouts are accounted for on all of those days. She never went anywhere near his house.
Knox and the victim didn't get on. It would be strange for the victim to be invited so soon to the new boyfriend's house.
A lot has been said in the press about the case. I believe that the knox family have money and are capable of buying journalists favours. There's a lot of hackish journalism over the case and even the BBC starts every article with a barely veiled presumption of innocence of Knox.

it doesn't mean that she didn't do it, but it does mean there's insufficient evidence to prove beyond all reasonable doubt they did do it.
I'd say equally this means that Rude Gude should also receive a retrial even though his hand prints and semen were found on the body
(around 87% of cases were the victim has had sexual contact it is the person who had that contact who committed the murder so far more probable cause than the others)
