Just watched the first episode of this and it was very good, nice bit of 1940's New York and old school espionage / action. Hayley Atwell in the lead knocked it out of the park IMO

Looks like being a fairly short series (8 eps I think), but def hit the ground running, and episode 2 is also out (shown as a double premiere in the US last night)

Look out for a cameo by one of the best actors from The Wire too

Just watched Episode 2, not seen many shows start this strongly (I think the limited run and the lessons learned from Agents of Shield's mediocre start have worked in it's favour).

The dialogue is sharp too, particularly between Peggy / Jarvis and Peggy / Waitress (played by Lindsay Fonseca, didn't recognise her at first)

Best bit of Ep 2 - watching Agent Carter brutally take down a suspect while a typically 1940's Captain America Radio Serial plays in the background with the helpless damsel wailing and being rescued by Cap, nice touch

Is Agents of Shield similar? I sort of avoided it thinking it would be a bit pants.

They're both spin-offs of the Marvel universe. Specifically, Agent Carter is a spin-off of Captain America.

Agents of shield starts off much slower and there are some early duff episodes.

Halfway through it kicks into gear and the 2nd season has been very good IMO

Episode 3 out, still very entertaining. Got an almost Indiana Jones feel to some of the sequences, although that might just be the inevitable time period derring-do comparisons.

Jarvis very good in this episode, Hayley Atwell still great, crush developing

Saw the pilot last night- enjoyed the late 40s vibe and the gadgets, the actress playing Carter is good, convincingly steely and secret agentish

it yet another Wire spot- Bubs plays the club owner/fence

then choose the 'couchtuner' link, This then gives you a variety of streaming platforms to watch it on- I go with Vodlocker

Great stuff, they're really kicking it up a notch now (understandable given the small amount of episodes)

Original Black Widow programme shown in pretty disturbing detail
Return of the Howling Commandos
Carter kicking ass in Russia
More quality dialogue, subtle and clever
Some of the more 2-D characters given some interesting depth too

Hope they get another season or 2, it's one of the best shows around at the moment IMO.

Watched the first two episodes last night and really enjoyed it.makes you think Dustin Hoffman had a point about films. Some of these series are far better imo. Thoroughly recommended .
