2024/2025/2026 FA Cup

Confess I misread this fixture and thought it was the FA Trophy. Agree a run would mean a lot. Although to be honest I'd rather win one of the smaller cups than reach the 1st round proper, unless we were to draw someone really high profile...

Anyone bringing hard hats or tin foil cups?

Yep. The London Senior Cup should be our number one priority for the season!

Mishi did persuade the club to enter it to try and stop Sutton overtaking us. Managers were less enthusiastic and it died. Fortunately Farnham defeated Sutton in last year's Semi.

Yeah, wasn’t great. We should have been out of sight at half time, but needed a great goal from Jeffrey to salvage it. Every step the team takes forward, they seem intent on taking one back. Need some injured players back, and stop relying on the teenagers and players out of position.

I just saw the result (2-2) - was the game as awful as the scoreline suggests?
It was a bit of a weird one. Hamlet were slapdash and often uninspired, yet there were some thrilling attacking moments including two memorable goals from JBW and AJ, as well as a missed penalty from JBW. Leatherhead were an ordinary lower division side, whom we should have seen off comfortably, yet we had to resort to kamikaze attacking tactics just to force the replay with a late equaliser. At least it's not boring!

I'm baffled at the players' apparent lack of understanding of how the wind affects the flight of a football. I can't count the number of games I've watched which have descended into farce because players hit the ball too hard, or not hard enough, or mistime headers, or expect the keeper to hit the ball 60 yards into the teeth of a gale or run on to a long ball which arrives behind them or blast passes yards past the intended recipient or....

Positives were v good performances by Jeffrey and Hand, especially Jeffrey who saved us almost singlehandly. 2 excellent Dulwich goals and 2 very poor Leatherhead goals . As said above the wind made a difference and even with their limited resources they used it well .

Not sure why Mills is not starting as the difference he makes to the attack when he comes on is quite a lot. I think we need another attacking threat. Shame about Marshall's injury which looked bad. I think he has done well since his arrival but probably paid for his commitment/aggression with that full on challenge.

Assume Collins was given the start to try and get him a goal and some confidence, but he was pretty well marshalled by their centre backs - and to be fair, the same could be said of Porter who didn’t contribute much either.

We can’t afford to rely on 30 minutes of Mills to try and get a result, so he’s got to start until Collins starts firing or Porter’s role starts working. Maybe worth giving a starting line up of Mills / Collins or even Mills / Lorenzo a go?

I’m still utterly confused as to what porters role is in this side? Doesn’t link the play, doesn’t work off mills and doesn’t sit in when needed as another midfielder.

I’d prefer they tried him as a central striker and tried to play through teams a bit more rather than just relying on arial bombardment and wizardry from the wingers.

The Running Horse, it's close to the bridge over the Mole and pretty close to the ground. Regular Camra award winner if you drink real ale, lovely old pub too.

A rather adventurous looking selection with only two specialist defenders in the XI, although we've managed to name two more on the bench. I'm guessing Kresh and SBJ will start in the back four.

that's really annoying. Both the awarding of the soft penalty and getting knocked out. Really disappointing (although I don't think we'd have beaten Dartford away)
