A middle-aged woman was dragged into a park by two men and raped in a shocking attack in south London, police said.

The 41-year-old victim had been walking along Dulwich Road near Brockwell Park when she was allegedly attacked by two men thought to be in their 20s.

She was dragged through the Lido gate of the park and sexually assaulted between 9.50pm and 10pm on Wednesday, May 13, according to detectives.

A Met Police spokesman said: "The suspects, both described as white and aged in their 20s, left the park together through the same Lido gate.

I do, they weren't helpful contributions but distracted from the actual crime. Rape is a horrific and traumatic experience and discussions which foreground the quality of reportage rather than the actual rape detract from any meaningful consideration and reflection on just what has happened to a woman walking past a park.

A bunch of us who use the lido gym regularly were talking about this the other day, along with a dog walker. We couldn't understand why there was no yellow incident board up on Dulwich Rd. If the poor woman was dragged into the park by the lido before ten o'clock at night, there must have been a ton of drinkers outside the Prince Regent who might have seen something. The longer they leave it, the less likely somebody's memory will be jogged.
