Feminism - where are the threads?

Of course male contributions to the main topic of the thread - Feminism - are welcome. The point is that feminism and related topics are worthy of lots more discussion, but it seems to me that good contributions to thread are not ones which substantially change the subject (especially to a male...

Men still not supposed to know about 'women's problems'?

The same reason the feminism one is. The OP is about attitudes not medical specifics. Even if it's being dragged that direction.

A celebration of Feminism - as a female what has it meant for you?

What do you think is worth celebrating about feminism? What does it mean to you?

...up liking and it works as a drama and a history lesson. Gloria Steinem I knew a reasonable amount about but the other figures of US 70s feminism, I often knew no more than the names and it made me read up on them. Making an antagonist like Phyllis Schlafly the central characters draws a line...

    Is this woman a transphobe?

Maybe take it up with the people who are talking about voting tory, rather than the people who aren't? And if we're going back to the quote discussed in the OP, I still think you're using a really unhelpful set of criteria. There are some statements that are obviously motivated by hatred or a...

What DVD / Video did you watch last night? (pt3)

...middle aged divorce wasn't in my ballpark yet. The film was a big deal then, probably being the major Hollywood film informed by second wave feminism of the late 70s. Since it came out the film hasn't been that easy to see and I thought it may have rightfully been consigned to the dustbin of...

A celebration of Feminism - as a female what has it meant for you?

Sorry to be argumentative, but that's not necessarily feminism, is it? It's just being women.

Seeing this is a feminism thread I just can't see any benefit in any of this bullshit for any of us. tbh.

...or not, a feminist. Humanist and Feminist aren't conflicting positions. You may not describe yourself as one, you may not like the idea of 'feminism' but you are one unless you specifically believe women to be lesser, deserve less etc. I find it odd that women will jump through these...

...important for men to discuss how they feel, what hurts their feelings and why, what makes them feel small, angry etc. But it needs to be initiated by men, not mediated by women on a thread explicitly about feminism. Feminism - where are the threads?

For me, this is a very good personal example of this, posted by kabbes earlier... For me it is very much a 'nurture' thing and there is a drip, drip, drip effect that has us internalising and becoming/applying the double standards that we actually hate.

Feminism - where are the threads?

What rules? did I miss the memo too? So what are your rules then? There are feminists who are not terfs and not every discussion about feminism has to be about trans issues. There are other treads for that. I'm not sure why are you being so confrontational.

Men can be allies and we are grateful to those that are. But feminism is about women. I am not going to continue answering you. Because I know the form now and there is no point is there :)

    London Anarchist bookfair 2020

Effectively there's broad consensus on what fascism and ultra nationalism are and why they're inimical to our movement, there is no such consensus over "transphobia" , "gender critical feminism " and associated themes so now we resort to rules and physical force.
