...male and female gender roles are to a pretty significant extent (even today), biologically determined. (Not every woman, not every man. But as generalisations over time and space).
I was interested to discuss this and how it fits in or doesn’t with modern feminism. I just wanna think about it.

I get what you're saying, kebabking, and I think you're talking about liberal feminism or white feminism. The drive for women to be brought level with their counterparts in the current social order, ie white middle class women achieving parity with white middle class men. As opposed to inclusive...

My ongoing quest/immediate response since I first saw The Statue has been coaxing a metal version/translation of the ideas and shapes behind this into existence. Then sticking it in a bonfire til it glows red hot, possibly with magnesium...
I posted this on the Works of Feminism thread. The difference between Liberal Feminsim and Socialist Feminism.. Is this what you mean?

OK Pickman's model it's not just my feminism, it's what is called feminism. And feminism is basically the want of women to be recognised as human. So that groper in the office or that rapist. Is that something that is peculiar to women? You'll now NAMALT me and also tell me about you or a friend...
this has been playing on my mind today
I don't think feminism is that at all, it's a very peculiar form of feminism you practice if it's nothing to do with men unless they're rapists or gropers. Doesn't your feminism have anything to say about equality in the workplace or home?

I don’t remember seeing Anya Taylor-Joy in anything before but she’s fantastic in it. She (and the show) should collect a few gongs come the awards season.

Agree with the bits on incels and final paragraph. As you say though it's two sides of the trump coin. But I don't think you can gloss over the MAGA stuff, that whole world view is a particular political statement, whether they think it through it or not. It's the political view that led to the...
Yes, my feminism includes transwomen too. And sex workers.
And sorry to pick you up on your language again but it's a bit jarring to see female as a noun used on feminism threads.
Sorry if this qualifies as cross thread beef...
My interpretation of feminism is that it is the acknowledgement that women are humans. If that manifests itself on this thread as a celebration of sisterhood that's fine by me.
I would like to hear how you celebrate feminism and how it has shaped you :)
