Feminism - where are the threads?

Why do you equate "feminism" with academia, kabbes?

...group of mostly male posters made the environment here so vile you drive women, cis and trans, away. You think that’s a great victory for feminism? I suspect it this kind of dishonesty that means women are much more likely to reject your arguments than men, and much more likely to support...

    Is this woman a transphobe?

...to be men - from being forced to use men's toilets (unless and until toilets are gender neutral). I get how many women don't consider that risk anything to do with for feminism (any more than any of the myriad risks some men pose to other vulnerable males), but it is not just a matter of...

    Is this woman a transphobe?

Why does that impact feminism? If trans women are or are not women does that negate female oppression?

    Is this woman a transphobe?

I try and listen to a lot of viewpoints, but I don't agree with them all. In my part of the world views akin to gender critical thought are common amongst left wing women, often expressed quite vociferously. I listen to them as well.

Several people shot dead in Plymouth 12 August 2021

I'm 15 minutes in and it's about a writer's PhD on anti-feminism. So far it's drawing distinctions between various bits of this movement, but it's dragging a bit. The writer's a bit hesitant in her delivery and the hosts haven't done a good job of coaxing an overview from her. Not great as a...

They should even be able to criticise certain dubious branches of feminism if they want to. (And yes there are problems within feminism, just like there are problems within everything...

Well, by that token you were indeed blase in your post about a man dressing in exaggerated markers of a type of feminity.

Or do you think Nick Ferrari was so keen to bring the subject up because of his long-standing commitment to radical feminism?

    Feminism and violence again women

The use of academic terms excludes as much as it includes, and it is based upon a hierarchy of authority. For me, men being genuinely respectful of women on this thread is to let women's voices be heard rather than imposing ours and if that means men taking a step back and terms being used in a...

Feminism - where are the threads?

Feminism isn't restricted to or encompassed by people with degrees, was my point. Most women's experience of feminism is more likely to be from face to face interactions with our peers and maybe from reading columnists in the paper or online. Most women I know who would describe themselves as...

Drag Queen Story Times picketed by protestors who claim that it grooms children and promotes paedophilia

Maybe this is where the notion of “camp” and how male gay culture incorporated some elements of feminity can lead to conflation. Drag queens could be thought of as a case of shifting the “camp” slider up to 11. (See also Polari)
