Can't say I'm looking forward to it as I think it's a bit daft but it could be good for my little business. Lots of shops are having christmas window displays and there'll be a tree in the square and some artificial snow machines around the place.
Merry christmas folks :)
Last time was 2012 and here we go again :(
Still raining heavily, river levels still rising and so much water running down off the hills it's just going to keep getting worse until this rain stops :(
Just a short update and shameless plug for the lovely not-for-profit Socialist club and Best venue in the North West [NME 2012]..
If anyones ever been before, you may notice a few changes afoot. Since the creation of the Entertainment Committee just under 2 years ago, we have implemented a new...
I'm posting this here because it would get missed in the Northern forum. I was just looking at what's on locally this month as saw this list of artists in Hebden showing their work in their studios. It struck me that there are a massive number of artists and crafts people for such a small town...

A woman was found dead in the river under the pack horse bridge in town this morning. We don't get many dead bodies in our river so this is big news here in Hebden. The woman's family have been informed but nobody here seems to know who she was
Whoever she was, it's very sad :(

There was talk of a picnic down by the river (with nearby working mans club for beer supplies) in the afternoon followed by an evening in the pub(s)
Who's up for it then and any ideas for dates?
Go on, you know...
Really looking forward to this very welcome return to West Yorkshire's capital of -ness in just under two weeks time.
Deb has never been to Yorkshire  and she is really keen on this too ...
She is driving me up the Friday afternoon, 16th November, and we will be in circulation...

Aye, I am back in the Calder Valley for the foreseeable future, and I am just outside Mytholmroyd, just down the road from HebdenBridge.
So anyone fancy a meet-up in HebdenBridge soon?
Also does anyone know of any art/literature nights that go on in the area these days...
Me and the other 'arf went to the lovely Yorkshire (little) town of HebdenBridge last week. We were visiting chums in Leeds and went there on the train - it's ACE!
We were really struck by the fresh air and natural beauty of the place, right in the Pennines, and also the fact that the town...
