Lambeth votes Yes to AV

As you are probably aware Lambeth was one of only 10 local authority areas across the UK that voted Yes to AV - 55% of people who voted were in favour. The other areas who voted to AV are Southwark, Islington, Camden, Haringey and Hackney in London along with Oxford, Cambridge, Glasgow Kelvin and Edinburgh Central - all 'clever' areas!

So we can bask in our collective progressive nature! (Although with turnout at 33% maybe the result doesnt reflect the will of everyone in Lambeth)

That innumerate arrogance ('clever' progressive') played a large part in your defeat.

Bunch of fucking idiots

I can only imagine the pain of realising you're an intellectual oasis surrounded by a sea of lumpen idiocy :(

So sorry :(

33% turnout. AV hardly gripped the electorates imagination in Lambeth. Not exactly big queues waiting to vote.

Cant see what was so progressive about it. The "market" has final say in what goes on in countries ( see Eire, Greece and Portugal). To make "progressive" change to voting system to me is not the problem.

Clever areas lol. Oxford a clever area, well, i wonder where the cleverness is, judging by the amount of beggers I see on the streets every day after work, some of whom look like they've only recently become homeless. And the fact that the universities and cowley BMW plant are the only large employers here. Yeah very clever.

All areas with a huge number of professional political activists and dedicated amateurs. Further proof that AV appeals to the sort of people who would rather politics was all about talking rather than actually doing anything useful.

No great surprise there. I can't say I know anyone in brix who voted no.

Surprised at how fucking pig ignorant the rest of the country is though. Reminiscent of Americans protesting against Obama's healthcare reforms.

'No, we don't want free healthcare, we want to be fucked up the arse by insurance companies!'

=

'No, we don't want a fairer system of electing the people that rule us, we want labour or the tories to be in government forever!'

Nuts.
