Waiting passenger sculptures, Brixton railway station

I've just done a little feature on the brass passenger sculptures on Brixton station.

I have to admit I never knew there was a third one - has anyone got a pic of it?

Hi. As a long-time lurker I have always enjoyed your pics and local history bits, Editor. I have a snap of sculpture 3 from a year or two ago and will try to post it. Didn't know that platform was blocked off now. Cheers!

I love the sculptures. I always thing they come to life when no-one is looking. The man had a santa hat for the pass few years. I wonder if they were made at the same time that the murals were painted ( I have no dates for the murals).

I had not been to Brixton overground until early last year.
I was delighted by the sculptures.
At first I thougt "are they a bit cheesy?' but then (as someone said) when I saw no one else was there, they looked much more intriguing.
Great stuff

I've always found them quite comforting on a quiet day as you don't feel like you're on the platform alone

no seriously, one of them, she's TOO still, it's weird, like she's standing there trying to look inconspicuous while thinking ' KILLYOURSELFDOITNOWDOITNOWJUMPNOWKILLYOURSELFJUMPNOW' before suddenly rushing to the platform edge and jumping off.

I felt like a right twat when i realised it was just a statue but there you go.

edit: alright minnie?

Was it dark?

The third one's not blocked off - I wandered around there about two weeks ago*. It's freakishly realistic, the fabric of her jacket, and her clothing is far more modern than the other two.

* you just keep walking to the end of the platform, and discover the fence doesn't completely block the disused platform. There's plenty of access to get round.

There better than the one Blackburn station, which to me always looks like the women is about to drag the kid away but that could just be the effect of being in Blackburn.

Have to say though it sums up the town perfectly as it is horrible, depressing and utterly pointless just like Blackburn.

That fence is freaking ugly though.

the view from the pool to them i think was quite intresting.... but this is going back to my childhood years so memory is a little fuzzy
