Hello all, Im looking to register with a new GP in the Brixton Hill area. I was initially set on joining the Brixton Hill Practice but found the reception a bit rude on the phone and the online reviews dont seem very positive.

The ones I have been thinking about are:
1) Streatham Place Surgery, 28 Streatham Place
2) Brixton Hill Group Practice, 22 Raleigh Gardens
3) Palace Road Surgery, 3 Palace Road

Any thoughts/comments? :D

No experience of the others, but Streatham Place has been absolutely brilliant for me over the past fifteen years. The walk in surgery always guarantees seeing a Dr within half an hour or so.

:eek::hmm:

I have never been seen within half hour in the walk-in surgery and never been seen within half hour even when b/f has an appointment

There's a fairly newish place in Streatham Hill which a friend of mine rates highly

On a different matter, I received a letter from the Pavilion Practice that the doctors are changing. Does anyone know what this means, is Dr Patel leaving?

Think I may now make the move to the Brixton Hill Practice that my partner belongs to as it's closer, even though it means giving up the opportunity of having the wonderful Vic as my midwife if I decide to have another baby.

The PCT contract is not being renewed (I have no idea which side is terminating) and all the doctors are leaving and new ones are replacing them.

avoid the Streatham High Practice. Rude, obnoxious racist doctors. Seriously - Lambeth is multicultural, so get over it, Dinosaur Doc. I self diagnosed myself successfully several times and proved my diagnosis with private tests. Went back to gloat and they were LIVID. Hahaha! Refused to recognise or act on my tests. That's bullying. Your patients are better informed than you 'Dr' - Thanks to Google.
