Je ne regrette les gazebos
Tuesday 4 May, 2004 (7.30pm)
Venue: Brixton Recreation Centre, 27 Station Road, London SW2

Just realised that the agenda includes some other items of interest for which there are no separate papers so far...

PRESENTATION ON EDUCATION
No report received from officers.
City Academy school for Brixton.
• John O’Keefe/Phyllis Dunipace/Cllr Bottrall

RALEIGH HALL UPDATE
Consultants have produced a briefing for Councillors and
others involved. An options report was produced on 11 March
by ABL Consultants who looked at income generation options
and costs of development of the site. Consultants may submit
a draft application for funds to English Heritage, as it meets
many of their criteria for support. Discussions are now
underway to look at future development options and a
decision will be made within next few months.

ASSET PLAN
A full report is to be submitted to the Executive in July, and
officers would brief Members on the Business Case review
currently being undertaking.

I think that Raleigh Hall should become this black museum thing with a view to aquiring the back part of the building at a future date (it's occupied by some carpenters workshop at present and they own it). Then when they have all the space Oval House theatre (they want to move to Brixton) should go there as well - result: bustling community centre with lots of events and cross-over appeal: arts, theatre, black history centre all in one.

Not sure I can make it tonight - maybe someone can mention this?

I couldn't go last night but interested to hear what they had to say about the town square (I couldn't find the design brief for this??), Raleigh Hall and the new school/city acadamey...
