Crispy

The following psytrance is baṉned: All
Thought I'd better pre-empt this so that all the info's in one place rather than scattered over the other apple threads.

Keynote is at 10am pacific, so that's 6pm uk. Coverage here and here

Definites:

New iphone - twice the screen resolution, faster, new case design, OS4. Leaked to hell, what can they show us that we don't know already?

Highly likely:

Updated mac mini (current models no longer available to stores)
Demo & details of OS4 on ipad
Safari 5

Hot off the webs:

Magic Trackpad - large format bluetooth touchpad for desktop computers

Ladies and gentlemen, please don your drooling bibs, the unveiling of shiny gadgets will be starting soon.

he owns apple shares

he's gone a little apple evangelist... but in a manageable way he's modern CofE of apple fanboy-ism to the more hardcore catholics who kneel before Pope Jobs I

I think they were expecting OS4 for the iPad from the off but its been a bit delayed. Got the hardware ready but not the OS, this will improve it quite a bit. Then then could sell helium filled iBalloon's to help with holding it.

It would be more useful If it could've doubled-up as a kind of drawing input device.

What time is the party, 6.00pm?

ooh I'd like writing recognition on it

talking of which when the hell do we get speech to text properly on a mac...I bought the IBM software years ago and it was basically crap

Oh I like the sound of magic trackpad, as I love the trackpads on their laptops but totally hated the magic mouse as it did not feel at all right to try to swipe my fingers whilst holding a mouse.

I suppose an updated Mac Pro is also possible, its quite long overdue.

A new version of Xcode would be nice and as its the dev conference this would be a good time.

It doesnt look amazingly likely that we will see an early preview of OS X 10.7 given everything else that is going on, but I suppose its not impossible.

As for what they could possibly tell us about the new iPhone that we dont already know, probably not much but maybe something - do we know anything about the camera? Maybe it can record HD 720P video?

According to macrumors the last minute rumours are AppleTV (sounds plausible) and some previously unannounced iphone OS4 features (plausible) including maybe printing (ipad could certainly use that feature).

The thing I like about Apple is when they announce a new product, it's usually available immediately or at least at some point in the very near future - unlike some brands I can think of.

What I'd like to see tonight would be news on Mobile Me going free and them doing something interesting with Apple TV ( read the track pad might make a controller for it).

Hmmm wonder if all those iSlate domain names rumours earlier this year - that people assumed was for the iPad - are actually for the track pad..?

Free MobileMe would be a good move on apple's part, and encourage people to write things which sync over MobileMe - there are a few desktop apps that do but not that many. Expanding it into a general cloud sync service for apps would be great in replacing the current huge mishmash of OTA syncing systems out there, and make a lot of sense.

However over the years I've had MobileMe I've got used to decisions related to it not making sense so I'm a bit sceptical. The me.com site is actually very good but other features are embarrassingly underpowered - iDisk is 1% as good as Dropbox, the iWork.com site just hasn't been developed much beyond it's beta state, and so on.

I just had to let mine run out, no money on credit card. The iDisk upload was terrible (slightly improved by using Cyberduck rather than the desktop), I use my own webspace for my website needs because of that. I'm only really missing syncing everything.

Oh blimey

10:02 am Audience yells, "We love you Steve." Steve responds, "Thanks... I think."

Oh blimey x 3000

10:04 am Cites an email he got about a guy agreeing the iPad is magical because it got a girl interested in him at a cafe.

OK so the first thing of any significance is that iBooks now has inline notes, bookmarks & ability to read pdfs, or rather it will have later this month.

Very useful, don't know why it didn't have that out of the box...

Damage limitation and whitewash on the app store approval issues - as always.
