Gossips, Dean Street: let's have your memories!

Gossips - is that where Gaz's Rockin Blues used to be?

That was a weird crowd back in the 90s - minor actors that you remembered being in Grange Hill and glamorous prostitutes

I only went once. The Fuzztones put me on the guest list for a gig they did at Alice in Wonderland. Spent the night drinking Jack Daniels with them and half the Damned. It all got a bit messy :)

As anecdotes go, I realise the above is a bit shit

I do remember the bloke from Dr & the Medics who was DJ playing an English psychedelia type tune with the lyric "daddy always said to eat up my bacon rind/the traffic lights are changing somewhere in my mind". Anyone know what it was?

I enjoyed the few times I went there - less of a club, more a goth after-hours drinking den, very relaxed and fun.

Hi Mick
Great to see you here - and I'm glad you found my article!

I'll remove the clueless spam comments, because that's no way to greet a bona fide poster, you rude feckers.

Mick used to run the Gossips Club in Soho home of the Batcave, Gaz's Rocking Blues and other great rock'n'roll nights. It was ace! Vic Reeves got his big break there. Dr & The Medics, The Quireboys, Sisters of Mercy, The Mission were regulars there. I played there a few times too!
