USA leading medals table, say NBC

I've seen some outlets doing that before: even if it's the IOC standard, after all, it's a "medals table" not a "olympic titles" table, and I've questioned myself a few times why they're often sorted by the golds.

As I don't know if this was a knee-jerk reaction for the US being pretty average outside the pools or if they always measured like that, I won't comment if this is an attempt to whitewash the bad results after bragging about "beating them in their own turf", and NBC avoiding an audience drop.

i thought they did it by golds on the official site?

poersonally for the first time im happy there doing it on golds as we are winning a hefty portion of gold...

i remeber in atlanta when we had abot 30 medals and only one gold i was pissed off there were teams with just one medal above us.

well i say pissed off.... i actually cried for 6 weeks became a recluse and made 10,000 gold medals out of loo roll and pva glue....*twitch*
