JTG

Angry about not being able to be an astronaut.
at wrysmile's request, a poll to see who's there and who isn't

Thanks, JTG - making my life easy! I always worry about starting a poll that someone will go 'Loser, there's already a poll on over at x, y, z forum' that I've usually completely missed! Not very observant, me...

Heh - I wanted to start a poll but didn't for the same reason (plus didn't want to seem smug )

I didn't bother trying.

I've had enough of spending shitloads of money to get pissed on and trample around in the mud on my tod.

I might still be going, though, but I couldn't be arsed getting a ticket. Does that make sense? ;)

I'm amazed there's only 18 people bought tickets so far. Last year it was mental with people desperate for tickets. I'm not going because I think I've found better festivals to go to this year but I still thought that there would be a big surge of ticket buyers on here.
I hope I don't regret not going to glasto but for me, Primovera will be my Glasto this year.

I'm going :) but on my own :( as my mates didn't register.

So unless I find someone I know has registered & got themselves a ticket all unbeknown to me, expect a thread later in the year asking for someone to take pity on Glastonbury first timer who would prefer not to spend the entire weekend on her own (and who would feel much safer in some form of company!) and who wouldn't mind me tagging along a bit

ETA - ok, that doesn't entirely make sense but you get the gist I think

ETA2 : I think tickets are still available? It says they are on the Glasto web site anyway

I think everyone's had enough of trampling around in mud and rain, especially at that price, and decided they could all Watch Something Else instead ...

I'm amazed there are still tickets on the go ... lol

i'm going, seemingly on my own, may well need friends. But may just contact the volunteering place that's turned my application down already and say 'look, do you just wanna free hand, cos have a ticket, so let me know'.

Aw, don't be silly - there's loads of Urbanites going! I've not been before either so we can be first timers together

 thanks!

Its not the festival that bugs me, been doing those for years now, just not Glasto (yet). But until now always with my mates. I have to admit it's slightly scary & very odd that as far as I know Im going without any of them!

I did my first three festivals on my own, if not first four really, and had some awesome times at all of them. With mates is cool, but with some time to yourself, you can just do what you want when you want, without having to worry about anyone or anything else. Can be cool.

Looks likely that the usual Urban Cider Bus meet on the Wednesday (and Thursday?) eves will be a tad more select than usual, and Camp Urban smaller. But if any Urban person is going alone, check Urban spaces for camping and socialising arrangements ... I will be posting about these nearer the time ....

We're near certain to be working, ourselves. But we'll have a fair bit of time off to have cider-tinged fun :)

Yeah, well said, I've had classic times when mainly on my own :)

1984, 1994, 1999, 2000 -- all helped by top weather and mad partying opportunities!

The times when camping with others were pretty good too :)

I'm going, with the smallest group of mates for ages, looks like it will be a different experience this time. I hope!
