I just randomly discovered , which is an album of his in full on youtube. Now I've never heard of him before, but this is just pure folky genius.

Anyone else heard of him before?

Yeah, it's weird that you started a thread about him I was just reading a book about outsider music and the chapter on him was one of the first ones I read. There is quite a bit of info on wikipedia about him but I found the book I'm reading was much better, it's called Songs in the Key of Z. I think his earlier stuff is meant to be much more unlistenable but a few people love it.

Yeah I read the Wiki article about him, really intriguing. All the anonymity he works under and the select fanbase he seems to have. He's been going for a while now too, I'm interested enough after hearing that album on youtube to check out his other stuff now.

Apparently when he started recording stuff, before anyone really knew about him and the internet wasn't around to find stuff out about him, if you sent a letter to the address he has on his records he's send you a whole box of his records because he couldn't find anywhere to sell them.
