Nice one - I was going to suggest this, the old one was taking ages to open up. So anyway, what a privilege it is to be on the first page with...

Kurr by Amiina - a splendid oddity from four Icelandic women who appear to like knitting.

They've provided strings on the last two Sigur Rós albums, haven't they?

I heard Yoko Ono choose something by Amiina on Desert Island Discs yesterday.

Don't know, but would seem a fair bet as they were originally a string quartet - and from Iceland.

i think they do stuff for efterklang as well. general rent-a-postrock-string-section really. :D

I remember seeing Efterklang live a couple of years ago. I can see how Amiina would be kindred souls.

The Travelling Willburys - Volume One and most of Volume 3 (aka spot the plagarism)

at my mums's - cue lots of crys of hang I know that one, what does this sound like, did he really just sing what I thought he sang? and noway they can't've based a song on that... one sounds just like Jonathan Richman doing Roadrunner and Tweeter & Monkey Man manages to refence both the stones, past & then future Dylan and Word Up plus by volume 3 their plagarising themselves.

:( i miss the other thread.

Marilyn Manson - Eat Me Drink Me

edit: i only had 113 posts on the last thread - bizzaro! must try harder.
