Following on from the bran flakes in your dinner thread.

Has anyone ever had tuna and pasta bake with bread in it? Sliced bread laid over the top or at the bottom of the dish.

Magic Sam made it once and I was disturbed and disgusted and still haven't recovered from the soggyness of it all.:(

Magic Sam said his mum does it so I am never going for dinner there again, I might get a pasta sandwich.

Does anyone else do this?

Eta-that third poll option doesn't make any sense sorry.

A friend used to make it with crushed crisps on top and that was actually surprisingly nice.....but bread? No, no no....oh deary me, no......Magic Sam and his mum are most definitely fuckin wrong uns!

My mum (and now I) do that, it works a treat. I can't wait to get back to England and have an oven so that I can make one!:)

Bread though, sounds really nice to me but that may be because I can't eat it anymore and have turned it into the bestest most delicious food in the world in my mind.

Re: slices of soggy bread at the bottom of the dish - I have tried a sort of savoury bread & butter pudding (cheese & marmite instead of raisins, basically) & it sort of worked but it wasn't that good.

I don't think it would have been a good idea to let tuna & pasta anywhere near it though.
