Montjuic park
Take a cable car ride up to the fort at Montjuic and wander up to Mount Tibidabo - you can explore lots of museums and stuff and come down a brilliant big staircase to a musical fountain, about 10 minutes i think from the bottom of la ramblas.well worth taking on a clear day, you can get a sense of how places like La Sagrada Familia fit into the rest of the city. ends up on the next penisular along from Port Vell.
For something a bit different take the train from Placa de Espana to Monserrat and visit the monastary built into the side of a mountain. Takes about 45 minutes on the train, then cable car up to the top. Costs about £5 to get there. There's a retaurant up there and a funicular that goes all the way to top that gives you some of the most amazing panormamas anywhere in spain.
Port Vell is good - and the aquarium rocks!
Parc Guell (full of Gaudi sculptures) is def. worth a visit but go early if you want to avoid the tourists. It's the half-finished Gaudi housing estate that only has 1 house in it! It's famous for the Gecko fountain.
Try the Gothic Quarter and the area to the north of it (I think it called El Born) for quirky bars and people watching. the cathedral in the Gothic Quarter is worth a visit.
Make sure you go on both sides of thechurch) - the architecture is completely different. Truly one of the most incredible buildings - moving, even. will totally blow your mind… you haven’t seen HUGE until you’ve seen it!
maybe walk down La Rambla and see the street artists and walk around Barri Gotic and get some tapas and go to a few bars, especially Zoo and Dot. There a lovely market on Las Ramblas - and Gaudis house's up on De Gracia. Go to the big food market on las ramblas - can't remember what it's called, but you can't miss it... ...(its also opposite the erotica museum) stock up in the morning with breakfast pastries, olives, bread, cheese etc for a day's sightseeing. Saturday down the La Ramblas is great - that is the main street in the Gothic part of town - it has all the crazy street shows and performers, loads of character and is in the Gothic region of town which is the most interesting,
Word of warning: Las Ramblas is getting pretty rough now, particularly the back streets around Le Gothique...lots of muggings by gangs of algerian kids so never take your passport out with you unless you really need it and keep a tighty grip on any cameras.
Get the bus touristic, its 20 euro's for a two day ticket n u can get on and off as much as you want. the Blue & Red Tourist buses as they take you to all the good places. pay one fee, gives you the definitive guide and all your bearings, ( Oh yea and of course you get a discount book free, For gettin into all sorts of places free. )
Olympic quarter/Olympic Village/Olympic Stadium
OOOOO and check out the Irish Bar, called Paddy's Lane in the Pla de Palau. Near the Sta. Maria del Mar.
the Nou Camp - excellent guided tour for 6 euros including access to changing rooms, the pitch, trophy room etc.
The little arts and craft market off the strand in Barcelonetta is great for a leisurely walk along the port.
Port Olympia, the beach near it is not the best beach in the world, but there are some really great quiet spots
Restuarant recommendations
a restaurant in Placa De Real called something like Les Quinze Nits
http://www.virtualtourist.com/vt/430de/2/31bd/ which is incredibly high standard haute cuisine food at stupidly low prices. La Fonda on Carrer dels Escudeller is owned by the same people and is equally cheap and tasty (3 courses and plenty of wine for 20-30 Euros). La Taxidermista on the other corner of Placa Real is dearer but is the best restaurant I've eaten at there - I had the best steak I've ever had there.
Bars/clubs
That photo is a bar on the beach. We found it by walking down la rambla to the water and taking a left then walking until you get to a promenade where you can walk down onto the sand. It took us about 30 minutes to get there, but we were justwanding around lazily! It’s kinda under one of those further down. I can’t rmember what it’s called but it’s either on Plat ja de mar bella and called Baja Beach Club or it’s a bit further down on Platja de la barceloneta and near a place called… erm… DJ Zone? Anyway, it’s an Indian looking place and the things in the background are like massive double beds. But you had to reserve them.
Plataforma
Nitzerclub
CDLC on Saturday night, down by the harbour, Hed Kandi has a residency there, been there and loved it.

really cosy chiiled out place called Sugar off Placa Real that i really loved. its a tiny gem.
Any bar is a good bar in Barca - not much point getting there until about 11.30 because that's when people go out.
the Barrio Gotico (old, windy streets with good bars)
Tips
Grass is decriminalised in Barcelona/ If you need some beau whilst you’re there, there are loads of people selling down the streets off la rambla, and around Zoo when we were there.
take plugs, they are also noisy bastards.
there are lots of pickpockets around
