My thread title was misleadingI clicked on loose in a pot, but the majority of the time it's a bag in a mug.
I've only ever had loose tea at post afternoon teai make tea with teabags when i use my teapot, but only because i dont use my teapot often enough to warrant buying loose tea, else i would use loose tea coz its better form a teapot

Tea in a teapot cools down too quickly. Tea should be mouth scaldingly hot.
If I warm my teapot, it stays nicely hot. But then I prefer my tea not to scald.

Praise be! Tea drinkers can spell loose tea. How wonderful. I used to always buy loose tea and make it in a pot. I had a range of different teas kept in jam jars. Now I buy teabags and still make it in a pot. Assam is my favourite but some of the blended teas are good as well.
Just occasionally I make it in the cup, but it means having somewhere to put the teabag for use later in making a second cup.

Loose tea in teapot, and very rarely, a mug of tea-flavoured drink made in a mug with a teabag.

It depends. If I'm on my own, teabag in a mug. If I'm making a lot, for guests, say, then tea in a pot.
