Stop the BNP's Nazi rally in Derbyshire on Saturday 15 August (Discussion)

You're quite the village idiot, aren't you?

Why do idiots like you still still speak in defence of new labour?

The bnp may cause a few racist attacks .New labour carpet bombs entire communities in Iraq and afghanistan.

People like you make me laugh:D

Sorry to burst your bubble but new Labour are racist it dont matter how you try and skirt round the issue.

Go on tell me how new labour are not racist because blowing children to bits in Iraq and Afghanistan is different from racism in the uk.

Is the protest off?
In the local paper it said the the council have an order to ''prohibit 'trespassory assemblies' of 20 or more people on land owned by Alan Warner on Codnor Denby Lane, between August 14 to August 18, was granted by the Home Office following an application by Derbyshire's Chief Constable Mick Creedon.''

Apparently the police are bringing in help from other forces.
The only thing getting kettled will be the protesters.
The police also have the power to stop coaches on the way to the protest.

Utter waste of time, which has given the BNP free publicity already.
I doubt if hardly anyone had heard of the RWB, before the SWP thought it was a good idea to do a protest. Which in reality will only attract several hundred.

The only winners will be the police on overtime

.....before the SWP thought it was a good idea to do a protest.......
But before local people thought it was a good idea to protest? Butchersapron might be cool about hundreds of fascists having a party on his backdoorstep, but many ain't having it. Believe it or not, this is happening in peoples communities and they're objecting to it. The fact that UAF wants to hijack the protest shouldn't detract from the fact that the main protest of the day will be formed of local people defending their community.

What local groups are UAF working with? Why no mention in their literature?

Sure UAF would PREFER local groups to achieve shutting this down ALL by themselves. That would be fantastic.

You're 'easier' pursuing years old grudges than actually saying anything aren't you hippy? Say something, make a point. I dare you.

No sorry, once again i have no idea what you're trying to argue. In what way is neo-liberalism bioth a gain and also democracy to boot?

No idea what that last sentence means.

Why can't workers defend the gains of the democracy they do have, and at the same time time fight for something better?

I'm saying I'll be there on the day. You'll be sat carping. I'm saying you can address the issues AND be out to defend space. I'm saying you shouldn't let your low opinion of the SWP blind you to the local resistance and organisation that has gone into this. Local people whose anger the SWP tries to hijack and which is rubbished by you for the form it takes. I'm saying get a life. Enough points?

There's one point - that the demo is actually locally led and manned. There's another one that people like me from outside the area can help make it even more local by turning up. The first one i'm, happy to see evidence for and would welcome stuff like that happening. The second one i'm baffled by. (You might like to re-read the thread and see exactly what i've rubbished as well.)
