i've got a folder of vintage patterns to bring with me. Some are rank, but there's some alright stuff there. I've got a selection of mgazines as well, but with the option of being able to carry one or the other, i'll bring the vintage patterns.

So I'm bringing the brand spankin' Elna (avec instructions) along. I have another sewing machine (loaner) that's pretty old but quite hardy - should I bring it too, or have we discarded the sewing aspect?

I don't think I can make this now due to probable emergency babysitting.

Might turn up later after the babysitting if that's ok :)

Love the wristy things, em, they are beautiful!

Sorry to have missed this! (and green cupcakes! and company of lovely laydeez!)

Did you all manage to stay on the wagon?

Most of us did... we missed you and PieEye though!!

Had a really nice chilled time but I didn't photocopy any patterns... although I did decide to buy a book!

So am I.

I really enjoy these evenings and i hope i didn't monopolise the photocopier too much, but i think I got patterns that will work with most of my stash.

Thanks for a gret night everyone and thnks for hosting gg.

It was lovely! And yes, we did mainly stay on the wagon, drink-wise, but made up for it by consuming vast quantities of those filthy little garlic balls! :D Speaking of which: Thanks again for your party trick, acechick - it's one helluva ball you made out of my tangly mess of yarn!

Mrs Pie a no-show again.  :p

She'll never get that top finished at this rate....

I have to unravel loads of it - after poopoo-ing Ruby's advice for getting rid of extra stitches she's been proved right after the thing started wandering all over the place.

Sorry about no show - I got home and ate and then was lazy and stayed in. I have no excuse beyond lethargy.

Green cup cakes sound good though! Was the cake green or merely the icing?

That was fun :)

Thanks for having us, was cool to meet you all and to finally get a pattern for a certain board member's little one ;)

Flickr craft club

Hey kids... as I was talking about last night it'd be cool if you lot upload some pics of what you've been up to here:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/u75craftclub/
I know people have their own photo sites / blogs but it'd be kind of nice to have all our stuff together too....

Also was thikning it didn't only have to be stuff we've made but inspiring stuff like this too, or patterns we have so that other people know who has what to borrow /photocopy or whatever... what do you reckon?

I'll put the pics from our nights / trips / jam making on the u75 site proper, but feel free to add your own on the flickr site and I'll link to that from our community page and it'll kind of upload itself rather than I have to keep updating it...

to join flickr pm me your email and I'll invite you (it's an invite only group) or if you're already a member, let me know who you are on it....

x

I was aghast to hear you blithely offering a new knitter the advice that it didn't matter if you found yourself with too many stitches, you should just knit two together to get rid of them. ;)

Excellent night, and the pattern swap was a great idea, I benefitted massively. It was interesting to finally read the R2 book. I'd never bothered before because I found the yarn so unappealing, but actually it's got some really good creative ideas in it.

Yeah, I've substituted colinette .5 for fuzzi felt to make a few things from that book - it gives a very different effect but it's really nice. Glad yr enjoying it! :)

I've not used flickr before and am unsure what to do - I have uploaded two pics I want to include. Can I assume they sit in my album and then are 'cloned' in the groups one?

yep - when you're signed in click on the 'organise' link, then on the right hand side there is panel that says sets / groups and you just add your pics to the CC group...

what a nice and cosy evening we had. nice to meet zoe herself and gg's friend.

thanks for hosting. the highlight of the night was the photocopier i think ;)

i ended up staying up with my flatmate until 2 am because i arrived so late i had the feeling of an un-uncomplished (word?) evening when i got home.

btw i would be happy to host one of the next knitty/s&b meetings in my place.

eme my photo of some of my knitting should be with you shortly... i am determined about this!

ooh that's a brilliant account of it... I was just looking at Rowan's courses online too... already thinking about this year's trip!
