Lord Camomile

Yipchaa!
Been mentioned in a couple of local threads, but thought they deserved one of their own.

Currently running is the New X and Deptford festival, and Herne Hill gets started on 2nd May.

Was already planning on going to the Spirit of '45 screening at New X Learning, but now Loach may well be introducing it  :D

Believe Maggot is hoping to see Frank Zappa's Baby Snakes, and red rose caught a bit of Attack the Block in Fordham Park, powered by bikes.

I was too late to get involved with these two festivals, but hoping to help out with the Peckham and Nunhead one in September

Yeah, really enjoyed it. Was great to see so many people at NXL (easily 100+ - I'm really hoping they get some more support off the back of it), and there was some very interesting discussion before and afterwards. I found it a all a little depressing too though - all that hope and idealism and look what we're left with now :( And is there any way back, or have people been too seduced by the "everyone for themselves" culture?

I love the Free Film Festivals work, it's the sort of thing I think people should be spending their time and energy on.

On Saturday I might be able to do both Zappa and Kurosawa, though might have to leave the former a little early to make the latter.

If you come to Zappa, can you make yourself known to me, as I always forget what you look like!

:hmm:

Really enjoyed Spirit of 45, Loach was a great speaker too. Might try and see Ping Pong. Or the Grease singalong 'those suuuuu-uuumer...NIIII-IIIIGHTS!!'

I went... 18 people attended.Quite inspiring. I didn't expect to see so many people ( and diverse too). Come along to the next meeting... The thought that we had to go away with was thinking about events we'd like to put on.
