Recomend me a tent

Bahnhof Strasse

Met up with Hannah Courtoy a week next Tuesday
Mainly for festis, must have 2 separate bedrooms and an area for storing stuff/huddling out of the rain. Cheap is good, crap quality is bad.

Ideas?

I don't have any recommendations as I've only ever had tents with one 'bedroom'. However I would recommend visiting a 'Go Outdoors' centre (assuming you are in the UK) as they always have a big selection of tents which are already erected so you can get a good idea of its size and weight. The last tent I brought off the internet wasnt quite what I was after because there is only so much you can tell from photos and data sheets.

Key things to look out for are the hydrostatic head (waterproof level), ideally you would want 2000 or higher and also have a look at the weight when its in its bag, remember the campsite might be a long walk from the car park / bus stop so you want to be able to carry it with some comfort.

Shopping trolleys are amazingly expensive. I've considered getting one myself even though I'm probably not ready for one yet.

That thing wouldnt last 20 seconds in the mud of half the festivals I've been two. Even wheelbarrows struggle some of the time.

What you do, right, is change to the wheels off one of these;

You want it rangey, right

I think the quick pitchers are pretty neat but I've heard some stories which suggest durability is not great. Apparently the zips / seams can be quite unreliable. They may have inproved recently though.

Would recommend a decathlon tent.

Something like this one.

We have a similar (one bedroom though) one for longer stays on campsites.

We also got given a pop=up one. It's okay quality wise, but a pain to pack away. Also an awkward shape to carry anywhere.

I'm after one of these babies myself though...

I would say that getting one where the poles crossover (i.e. not a tunnel tent) are better, as they dont fall down if the guide ropes fall out
